We are excited to announce the completion of the installation of our bifacial solar panels. This significant milestone underscores our commitment to generate electric power using renewable energy sources for our production processes.

Over the past 15 years, Queen City Forging has converted gas-fired process heating to electric induction and electric infrared heating. This transition has been to improve product quality, enhance sustainability, and reduce our carbon footprint. The new solar panel installation is the latest step in this ongoing effort.

Commitment to Sustainability:

Customers have asked us to show what efforts we are making to reduce carbon emissions and guarantee sustainability. By investing in renewable energy, we are addressing these requests as well as working proactively to mitigate the impact of rate increases due to generation and grid capacity issues.

Benefits of Bifacial Solar Panels:

  • Increased Efficiency: Bifacial solar panels capture sunlight from both sides, leading to higher energy output compared to traditional panels.
  • Sustainability: Utilizing solar energy reduces our reliance on non-renewable energy sources, contributing to a cleaner environment.
  • Cost Savings: Generating our own electricity helps manage and potentially reduce energy costs, providing long-term financial benefits. The greatest impact is expected during the seasonal solar maximum. We seek to shave demand peaks, reducing demand charges as well as reducing total power consumption.

A Greener Future

The installation of bifacial solar panels marks a significant achievement in our journey towards sustainable production. Queen City Forging remains committed to exploring and implementing innovative solutions that promote environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.

We are planning additional updates on our sustainability initiatives as we seek to do our part to meet customer requests to reduce carbon emissions and control costs.
